When tattoo money actually reaches your bank

A client paid your $150 deposit on Friday evening. On Saturday morning it's not in your bank. Nothing is wrong. It lands on Monday, the next business day.

Paid vs. in your bank

A successful payment and an arrival are two events

The payment happens on the client's side. Their card goes through, the deposit shows paid and the slot is held. The client is done.

The arrival happens at your bank. The payout lands in your account and you can spend it.

CREW.INK pays card payments straight to your bank. You don't move the money yourself. It just doesn't land the same day. The gap is one business day, so you can always work out the day it arrives.

The schedule

Next business day, deposited daily

Card payments are deposited daily. Each one is paid out to your bank on the next business day after the client pays. Business days run Monday to Friday.

Deposited daily means you don't wait for a weekly batch. Thursday's balances and walk-ins land in your bank on Friday.

Payouts · US-only for now
Where it works

The US-only limit

Payouts are US-only for now. Your payout goes to a US bank account. If you tattoo outside the US, you can't take payouts through CREW.INK yet. Check this before a client pays you, not after.

Doing a guest spot in another US city? Same rule: your payout lands the next business day.

The Saturday check

Checking payout status and estimated arrival

It's Saturday morning and the deposit isn't in your bank. Check three things.

  1. 01

    Check the payment

Open the booking. If the deposit shows paid, the client's card went through. In Payments, the money shows as on the way, with the day it arrives.

  2. 02

Note the day it was paid

Arrival counts from the day the client paid, not the day of the session.

  3. 03

    Count one business day forward

Skip Saturday and Sunday. That date is your estimated arrival. If it has passed and the money still isn't in your bank, look into it.

Fees

What it costs

One booking fee covers every card payment for the tattoo: deposits, balances, full payments and walk-ins. It includes card processing. There's no separate processing fee.

Nothing comes off your price. The client pays the fee by default, so the full $150 deposit is what reaches your bank. You can split the fee 50/50 or pay it yourself.

The minimum is $2.50 per payment. A $20 deposit on Free carries a $2.50 fee, not $1.98. Tips never carry a fee and go 100% to you.
